Majewski Osteodysplastic Primordial Dwarfism type II is a very rare inherited disorder, thought to affect 1 in 3 Million people. This disorder occurs in people of both sexes and all ethnic groups. The cause of MOPD II is not known and there is no cure.

The features Include:

  • Low birth weight (Less then 4 Pounds)
  • Microcephaly (Small Head)
  • Conspicuous nose
  • Curvature of the spine
  • Disproportionate development of the forearm
  • Bowing of the knees which can lead to dislocation
  • Sparse and fine hair
  • In addition a typical height of less then 1 meter
  • Farsightedness
  • Kidney Disease
  • Stroke
  • Aneurism

Therefore a limited life span

Very little is known of this condition and many have been wrongly diagnosed and therefore mistreated, there are also no support groups in the UK. This is why it is important for us to go to the annual convention held in America.
